A NEW CHAPTER

After 18 remarkable years recruiting in arts and culture, Thomas & Associates, Inc., will be closing at the end of September, 2017.

We are immensely proud to have placed hundreds of arts and culture professionals with museums, galleries, auction houses, performing arts organizations and private collectors across the United States and internationally. It has been our privilege to work with many of the world's greatest profit and non-profit arts organizations across the globe. As featured speakers in conferences both in the United States and at locations as diverse as Seoul and Dublin, we have shared our ideas and expertise and have learned so much from others as part of the ongoing evolution of the international arts community.

Our special projects roster has included organizing numerous traveling exhibitions; assistance with the management and installation of major corporate collections; and the development and creation of new galleries and museum wings. We are grateful for all these opportunities to work with a vast array of colleagues and communities.

Before starting her own company in 2000, Thomas & Associates' President Geri Thomas was Director of Exhibitions and Collections at the Jewish Museum in New York. Previous to that, she lived in New Zealand where she was part of the initial planning team for the new national museum, Te Papa. She served as an interim director twice in her career, first at the Jersey City Museum, and then at Lyndhurst, a museum and historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, playing a pivotal role during periods of transformative institutional change.

With more than 35 years of professional experience in the art world, Geri Thomas is retiring and shifting gears to explore new professional and personal interests, among them career coaching and a new group of services and products for art collectors. As an adjunct professor at NYU and a former lecturer at Christie's Education and elsewhere, she will continue her ongoing commitment to education and advancing individuals within the profession. After September 30, she can be reached at [email protected].

David V. Griffin, Senior Associate, has been with the company since its inception. Well-known as an excellent recruiter, researcher and arts professional with expertise in architecture, David V. Griffin was for three years the Director and Curator of Gallery 384, a contemporary art gallery in Catskill, NY, and the Founder of the Catskill Gallery Association. He is a member of the Events Committees for the Vassar Club of New York, the Montauk Club and the American Friends of the Louvre. David continues to operate Landmark Branding LLC, a firm he developed that focuses on the marketing of historic and architecturally distinguished buildings and new developments. He can be reached at [email protected]. Please contact him about projects and exciting employment opportunities.

To all our clients, candidates and colleagues, we wish you the very best in your careers and in the world of art! Please stay in touch and let us know about your activities and joys.

Cheers, all best – and stay tuned!

Geri Thomas David V. Griffin
